Gilberte 3000
The Cosmic Caravan — a mobile sensory laboratory, a musical odyssey
The Cosmic Caravan Gilberte 3000 is an immersive installation that recontextualises a 1970s family caravan as a mobile sensory laboratory.
Conceived by artists and musicians Xavier Cormier and Guillaume Milochau, this total artwork invites participants to become actors in a motionless odyssey through ever-shifting soundscapes and visual terrains.
The set-up
The caravan doesn't broadcast sound — it resonates. Its outer skin is by visual artist Marek Missal.

The caravan resonates
Hidden audio exciters are built into the walls; the caravan literally vibrates. Beforehand, visitors chat with Gilberte on their phones — her poetic words encourage them to dare to take the mic.

Soundscapes
Field recording, modular synthesiser, guitar, voice. Each session improvises a conversation with Gilberte and produces a soundscape that exists in the present moment.

Outdoor projection
At nightfall, Gilberte 3000 lights up like a lighthouse. The video feed runs through TouchDesigner — mapping, slit scan, feedback.
Gilberte 3000 sets us on the threshold between the visible and the invisible.
