Guillaume Milochau is a Paris-based multidisciplinary artist and musician working across sound, video and sculpture. A classically trained guitarist and an electronic musician on the modular synthesiser, he approaches every medium with the same gesture: drawing out what remains invisible in what already exists.

His installations and performances work through real-time transformation. A surveillance video feed becomes plastic matter through modular video synthesis; the sound waves of a synthesiser become visible as laser projections on a façade; an early Christian bust from a museum collection is reborn through 3D printing; a family caravan becomes an immersive chapel. Détournement here is not a comment on the original object — it is an act of revelation.

Improvisation is at the heart of his method. Whether a sound performance, live video processing or a reactive laser projection, each piece exists only once. Field recording — attentive listening to places, environments and textures — is his raw material and point of departure.

Self-taught in the visual arts, he builds from his studio a body of work that moves between the stage, the exhibition space and the immersive installation, seeking in each context the conditions for a contemplative experience in which technology is forgotten.

After more than thirty years of soundscape and electroacoustic composition, he now works with modular synthesis and the direct excitation of materials: his recent gongs, in the lineage of Éliane Radigue, treat metal as a body to be excited rather than a surface to be struck. He has shown work in London, Paris and Leipzig.
