À l'écoute des poissons et autres crevettes bruyantes
An ode to the seabed
A sound and visual creation on the border between natural science and artistic expression, inviting us to dive into an unsuspected acoustic world: that of marine animals.
The sounds come from bioacousticians at the Laboratory of Functional and Evolutionary Morphology of the University of Liège, who record fish and crustaceans in oceans around the world; hydrophones coupled with cameras identify the species. The music is played live over marine footage filmed by Rémi Demarthon, mainly in the Cerbère-Banyuls marine reserve.
On stage, Guillaume Milochau (ΠΡΑΞΕΔ) plays alongside Fabrice-Elie Hubert and handles the projection: live projection mapping on the stage and control of the two video projectors. For Nuit Blanche, he made the fish's sound waves visible by projecting them with a laser onto the façade of the Archives nationales.
